Contend for it

For days I have heard my spirit singing “We put a demand on heaven, open up - open up..” over and over again. Personally I have walked through strong prayer and intercession recently and the Lord has given me the victory and I felt him nudge me this afternoon to speak this over you. 

First you need to know that I found myself this morning likely in the same state that many of you feel you are in today. 

I felt like I had done everything the Lord had asked, and I was now asking the Lord Do you want me to just sit at your feet and worship you because it is already done? Or do you want me to go to war for it? Because I truly do not know what to do. 

And I softly heard the Lord answer me quickly and he said “Contend for it”. 

And that is what I feel to tell you today – contend for it. 

Contend for the thing that you are waiting on. 

What does that look like? 

Great question. 

It looks like standing on the promises of God in His word. It looks like reminding yourself that God finishes what he starts. It looks like reminding yourself that you do hear from the Lord and that you are not crazy. 

It looks like rebuking the enemy off your promise, your land and your mind. 

Yes - God has moved many of us from the Wilderness into the Harvest and the Promised Land but there were still giants in Canaan. And the people of God fought FROM the victory. They still advanced forward when the enemy was threatening their land, assignment, territory and authority. 

If God has called you to it - then I need you to contend for it. 

heaven needs you to contend for it. 

because hell will take whatever it can, and it will push you back into a spiritual corner if you let it. 

So throw your shoulders back and remind every demon opposing you that you are going forth, in Jesus name. 

Step on child of God. 

I'm right there with you.
