Wilderness PTSD

What do you do when the wilderness gives you PTSD? Okay - but really. What if the thing you've prayed for is here, and you're too paralyzed by fear to move?

As I mopped my floors today I heard myself pray Lord, align my prayers with your plans While that almost seems elementary to say out loud I think we all could use a reminder from time to time that if allowed, our mind will formulate words for our prayers that are actually limiting. And because we will naturally pray with language of logic rather than praying the mind of God.

One of my taglines in ministry, and in life that I try to live by is "pray BIG". I've recently found out that when we pray big prayers, God answers in a Big way while He cashes in our faith in a ... you guessed it... BIG way.

So, I found myself out here in the land of big Faith, back to praying with limitation and logic. Praying for man-made solutions to God-sized problems. And feeing confused and frustrated. I continued scrubbing my floors and with the wringinng of the mop I pulled my thoughts into submission and forced myself to remember what God had actually said.

Did He ask me to figure it out? No. Did He ask me to trust Him? Yes.

Moving in Faith is fun at first. Glancing over the horizon is exhilarating. Endless possibilities feel like an invitation to the supernatural. We write the vision and make it plain, scribing the heartbeat of God, the call and the destiny over our life. We realize finally that we aren't weird, we are just wired for another realm.

But what about the middle? In the middle of the faith journey when details look different than you thought? When your timeline gets thrown into oblivion but God continues to invade your quiet time with reassurance on the path ahead. You know - the one He chose.

We take heart in knowing that God is not just the author of our faith, but the finisher. He that begins a good work in you is faithful to complete it. He i snot a moody rebellious Father. He is steady, constant, and unwavering from His character. He is building with you in covenant, not just simply for convenience.

The reality is, you could have been born at any time, in any place in history but he chose right now, right here to talk out the call He specifically placed inside of you.

It's too late to turn around. Hell is backing up as you advance forward. Heaven is cheering you on. God hasn't changed His mind about you.

So align yourself fully under the word of God. Let His breath fill your lungs again. And prophesy.

Take Gods word in your mouth and begin to speak it out loud. Remind yourself of what God promised, and what he said. Rebuke Fear, come out of agreement with lack and the orphan mentality. Ask God to let you see yourself the way He sees you, as a son / daughter of God and ask Him to align your prayers with His heart, to remove the limits of lack and unbelief and to help you to speak life and faith in the face of every mountain.

God didn't bring you this far just to bring you this far. He didn't make a promise to you and forget about it. He didn't prophesy over your life just to change His mind and laugh at you as you cling to every word spoken. His character is good, true, right and trustworthy. He does not operate like man. Put all your weight on Him. He can take it, You can trust Him.

Follow Him step by step, Day by Day, Breath by breath. And before you know it your scenery of cacti and barren land will shift into a land flowing with milk and honey. "And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this" -Esther 4:14
